Short: HD-Installer for Cebit'90 / RSI
Author: Galahad of Fairlight (GLDFLT@AOL.COM)
Version: 1.0
Type: demo/patch
This patch applies to Cebit'90 (Revenge of Babbnaasen), ©1990 RSI
NOTE TO UAE/FELLOW USERS:
- This WHDload patch is configured and made possible using a REAL Amiga!
If you are able to play this install on your emulator, this comes with no
assurances that the install will be trouble free, and as such, NO mail can
be answered in relation to bugs occuring on anything other than a
REAL Amiga! If any serious problems occur as a result of using this patch
on your emulated machine, please consider reporting the problem to the
author of the emulator you are using.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Slave requires WHDLOAD V14+.
- Demo requires 1.0 MB Chip Mem (+ 0.5 MB other memory for preload option)
FEATURES:
- Full load from Hard drive
- Replay routine replaced (o4o/o6o)
- Reset routine patched to exit demo
- Quit option is 'Del'
NOTE:
You need to install UNADF by Andrew Bell, you will find the utility at:
ftp://de.aminet.net/pub/aminet/disk/misc/UNADF.lha
Install the relevant file to your SYS:C/ directory
Not doing this will result in NO demo!!!
EXTRA:
Took me a long time to track this demo down in a workable form, lots
of versions that were gzipped, which would have made the whole install
process a lot more trouble than was needed.
As it is, I have to convert from the .ADF file the zip produces, and
further extract the demo file!!!
The version of Cebit'90 on Aminet is a joke!! It is done using an Action
Replay cartridge, and is USELESS!!!!!
XFDdecrunch has a bug in the Tetragon 2.2 depack, of which Cebit'90
is packed with. It took me a while to figure out why the titlepicture
wasn't present, and why the colour pallete for the picture was missing!
XFDdecrunch misses the very end of the file, which is bizarre seeing as
it gets the correct length.
So, the slave now takes care of that, and depacks the demo on first
runtime, and then saves out a new file, and of course it never needs to
perform this process again (for faster loading).
Tested on o3o/o6o
